"I don't have to go to church to be a Christian!"

...so many folks like to say. Especially folks from the GLBT communities who have been wounded by hypocrisy and the careless words and actions of those who claim to be  Christians.  Not everyone who goes to church or calls themself a Christian has been genuinely born again.  Being able to swim doesn't make you a fish, but try and be a fish and not be able to swim!  Being part of a good, solid, spiritual church is a privilege, not a requirement.  If you haven't found a church that makes you want to be part of it's services and activities, then you haven't found the right church!  Christianity is about laying aside selfishness and self-centered motivations.  The truth is, church attendance is not all about you.  God's people go to church to help support one another and to lend their faith and support to the individuals whom God has called to and anointed for full-time ministry.  In other words, the pastor and ministry of a good local family of faith benefit from your attendance and emotional, spiritual, and financial support as much as you benefit from their teaching, wisdom, instruction, and exhortation.  "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." (Romans 10:17) Our going to church, and being supportive and faithful, enables the pastor to preach the good news of the Gospel for those who have not yet heard and obeyed this wonderful truth.  We also benefit as our faith grows, our hearts are encouraged, and we find strength and inspiration for the week ahead.   By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.     John 13:35 KJV

God's people are family.  How can you love your friends and family and yet never have any desire to be with them?  Folks who go to church only to be blessed don't understand one of the most important motivations for going to church - TO BE A BLESSING!  It's not all about what we can get from church attendance, but what we can bring to the table.  Sure, you don't have to go to church to be a Christian.  But without a good church home, it becomes harder and harder to walk in victory and find support in times of distress and trouble.  So why not throw away your excuses and see what being part of a Holy Ghost empowered body of believers can do for your walk with the Lord!  See how much better life and faith can be when you eat well, and in good company.

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."     Hebrews 10:25 KJV

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we , being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;  Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth , on teaching; Or he that exhorteth , on exhortation: he that giveth , let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth , with diligence; he that sheweth mercy , with cheerfulness.  Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless , and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice , and weep with them that weep .  Be of the same mind one toward another . Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.  Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.   Romans  12:4-18

The ONE Church is a Welcoming, Affirming, and Radically Inclusive Spirit-Filled Christian ministry that believes God's grace applies to ALL people, not just some.  The ONE Church is one great ministry and family of faith that meets in two locations, on both ends of the Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex.  We meet SUNDAYS at 7pm in Garland (At our storefront sanctuary - 6246 Broadway Blvd, Suite 100, Garland, TX 75043), as well as SUNDAYS at 3pm in Ft Worth (Services conducted at the First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church, 1959 Sandy Lane, Ft Worth, TX 76112).   We are an independent, Bible believing assembly where everyone is welcome, regardless of Race, Creed, Social Status, Sexual Orientation, lncome Level or background. It is a place where Jesus Christ becomes our common ground and all other considerations are set aside.  When we say, "ALL are welcome," we do mean ALL!  Finding a Church that fits you, your friends and your family takes time and effort. In your search, we’d love for you to be our guest and experience our services.  This much we can promise you; "You  won't leave here like you came, in Jesus name!"

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is ONE Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.   MARK  12:29-31
